That's right, folks....we're PREGNANT! We saw our little baby for the first time today, and we got to hear the heartbeat too. I'm not quite as far along as we thought, so I'm only about 9 weeks instead of 10. Which is a little disappointing - we have to wait a little longer for our little one to get here, and to find out if it's a boy or a girl, etc. But that's ok. I was also waiting til now to tell everyone cause I thought 10 weeks and 2 days was close enough, but it's really too hard to keep it a secret at this point. The picture looks like a little jelly bean. But it looked so much more detailed on the big screen we saw it on! Also, it looks more like a baby if you tilt your head slightly to the left. We are so excited! Some of you are probably wondering if this was planned, as we are still newlyweds. The answer is no. I am living, breathing proof (and so is the baby) that the pill is NOT 100% effective EVEN when taken correctly. So our little guy/girl is due about a week and a half shy of our 1 year anniversary! We can also find out what it is in about 8 weeks, and we are really excited for that, so about the 1st week of December! We will keep everyone posted on whether it is a boy or a girl, but please don't ask us about the names. We are keeping it secret (even from our families) until the baby is born. Also, I won't be posting pictures on facebook. If you want to know why, please refer to my last post. And I know I've said this at least 3 times this post, but we are SO EXCITED!
On the more "update type" note: I really haven't had much morning sickness. I had a couple of days that I didn't feel too hot and couldn't eat much, but at this point I haven't thrown up or anything. I HAVE been really exhausted for about the last 2 weeks, though. I am hoping that goes away with the first trimester! But other than that, I am feeling good! It's weird - I have actually lost a couple of lbs, but my jeans are already too tight. I went and bought a couple of pairs of maternity pants today. The lady at the store said they are designed to fit you pre-pregnancy all the way through, so I didn't feel quite so bad buying them this early. I bought a pair of jeans, and a REALLY cute pair of dark brown cords. And, I know this is silly, but I was especially excited that the mediums were too big and I had to get a size small! (For those who know me, know I was working really hard to lose weight pre-pregnancy, so I guess my work paid off! And no, I'm not still trying to lose weight. I was surprised I had, actually.) Tyler's grandma (she really is the sweetest lady I know) sent me a check to buy a cute maternity top. So I bought a shirt as well. It actually makes me look pregnant, even though I'm not showing at all yet (obviously) so I will probably wait a while before I wear it. Well, that is pretty much it! I will, of course, keep everyone posted. And now that I don't have to keep my mouth shut anymore, I will be able to post more often!
