Plasma Voting Adventures!

Hmmm. Which one should I start with? I think I'll get the voting out of the way.

I voted! Yay! (I know, jaw dropping astonishment, right?.....right.) I'm excited about it, because it was my first time ever voting. Even if my candidate didn't win. AND the best part about it, was I walked right up to the table, signed in (They didn't ask for my ID, by the way. I thought that was strange), and voted. No lines, no nothing. It was fantastic. And, I wrote myself in for a bunch of the stuff, because in all my excitement and stress about voting for the new president, I forgot to research the local people. So instead of voting for someone and finding out later that that was a terrible choice on my part, I just voted for myself.

Here is some more excitement: Donating Plasma.
So, I donate plasma on occasion. (Like once a week-ish.) Because they give me money. So really, I sell my plasma. Anyways, back to the point. I went in on Monday to sell my body. Now, I'm pretty picky about who sticks a needle in me, so I tell them they have to have at least 500 sticks, or no deal. But as for disconnecting me, I don't really care. I mean, how hard is it to pull out a needle? Here is how hard it is: there was a new person disconnecting me. He did perfectly fine, until the end. So, normally, the way they do is is they unhook a few things, and then clamp the tube, then take the tape off your arm. Then, they put a piece of gauze over over the needle, so that when they take it out, you can immediately put pressure on it so you don't gush blood. So, he had the stuff unhooked, the clamp on, and the tape removed. And then he pulled out the needle. What is missing, you ask? The gauze. Yup. He forgot to put gauze there. So of course my body, doing what bodies do, started gushing blood. And he was new, and just sort of froze. It was a good 5-6 seconds (and lots of heartbeats, since my adrenaline started going) before the girl that was helping the person across from me looked over, and said "put your finger on it! Your gloves are sterile!" So he did. But by that time, I had a nice little pool of blood sitting next to me. I didn't realize that that vein could shoot blood all the way to your wrist. It was quite the exciting experience. Then the floor manager came by and saw them cleaning the blood off my arm, etc, and said "What did you do, bleed all over my bed?" I told him yes, and he asked me why. I told him I thought they could use a little more excitement that night. Everyone looked bored. He lauged and then walked away. And then the girl (the one that was supposed to be supervising my disconnection, but got distracted by someone needing help) thanked me. I realized after that I could have gotten her in trouble by giving details on what happened. So I'm glad I kept my mouth shut.

So I was a little more tired than I usually am after donating, but aside from that I was fine. No harm, no foul, right? All in all, I thought it was a pretty funny experience.
