Two Months! (Picture/video overload!!)

Jake turned two months on Friday, and today marked 9 weeks. In some ways I can't believe it's already been two months, and in some ways I can't believe it's ONLY been two months! There's a part of me that feels like he's barely been here a week, and a part of me that feels as though I've been a mommy forever. Either way, I am truly loving every minute of it - even the frustrating parts. But to be honest, the frustrating parts are getting fewer and farther between. Now that we are getting to know each other better, it's much easier to tell what he wants. And he really does have different cries for when he's hungry/in pain/wants to be held/tired/etc. He is SO smiley now, and he loves to "chat" with us.

For memory:
He loves his swing.
Singing anything by Carrie Underwood puts him right to sleep.
He still hates tummy time, unless he's on Tyler's or my chest.
He loves looking at the TV.
He loves for you to hold him so he's standing up.
He likes to be facing out so he can look at everything.
He will fuss until you hold him the "right way."
He is sleeping in 6-9 hour stretches at night. (LOVE this one!)
He is super happy when he first wakes up in the morning. (After he's fed, of course.)
He is such a good baby! I love him to pieces!

He had his doctor's appointment on Friday, and here are his stats:
Weight: 10 lbs 2 oz - 16.58th percentile
Height: 21.75 inches - 11.5th percentile
Head Circumference: 15.3 inches - 25.34th percentile

So basically, we have a short skinny guy with an out of proportion head. But he sure is cute! (Here's proof!)

Baby faux-hawk.

He looks ridiculously stuck up in this picture.

Playing "blankets" with Daddy. (Tyler would wrap him up and cover his face. He thought it was hysterical, but he gets very interested when the camera comes out. He reaches for it already.)
He loves to stand!

Tyler has this exact expression in some of his baby pictures. Julie (my mother-in-law) thinks the shape of his head is just like his uncle Andrew's.
This last week he has started to try and look at things that are far too close for him to focus on, which causes him to go cross-eyed. (He wasn't even cross-eyed as a newborn!)

He looks like he is faking sleep in this picture.
Unsure what is going on.
"I'm a big boy now!"
At the doctor, just before his shots. =(
(Ignore the extra belly fat. On me, I mean. His is cute.)
Mommy and Jakey
Photo shoot time!
"Hey! What's on the TV??"
"Om nom nom nom!"

He pitched himself forward mid picture. Oops! (And it was the only time he did it in the 10 minutes I was taking pictures.)
"This is fun!"
"Oh, whatcha got there, mom?"
He WAS smiling here, but our camera has a stupid delay. (We are probably getting a dSLR as our gifts to each other for Christmas this year.)
Getting sleepy
And my VERY FAVORITE picture!
"I love my bear!"
And here are a couple of videos for you to enjoy.

In this one, he was holding himself up completely by holding on to Tyler's fingers. He is SO strong! (And determined. He just wanted to get Tyler's finger into his mouth.) This was at about 6 and a half weeks.

And this is just Jake being adorable. He LOVES being on his changing table. Who knows why.

As for me? I am starting a new "job" tomorrow. My friend April needed a babysitter, and we need extra money, so I'll be watching her little boy on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (and the occasional Friday). I am so excited! Jake and Tommy can be friends, and I'm sure it will help my weight loss goal to be chasing two little boys. :]

I am also doing a month-long challenge. I have 25 goals that I am working on. It started today! (But that is for another post.)

Tyler's parents came to visit this week. We had a blast! But of course, we forgot to take pictures with our camera, so we'll have to wait to get them from Julie. So expect a post about that! (We got to go on our first post-Jake date!)

Ok, Tristan, you look very pretty postpartum. I'm too afraid to go outside b/c of my flabby belly and I haven't taken any pictures with my baby. I probably should

Jakey is so cute!!! I still think he looks like you.

Thank you, Cassie! It really does go away. I looked probably 7 months pregnant for the first month! I just want the rest of it to go away now. But I was overweight to begin with. You should take pictures with her!
And thank you, Nichole. I am glad too! ;)

That's so funny about the Carrie Underwood thing, did you listen to her when pregnant? Thomas would always fall asleep to Taylor Swift.
Must be a pop/country singer thing!

Haha! Yeah, and I sang it all the time, too. So if I sing her songs, or if I have her music playing, he loves it! And he goes right to sleep.
And Kathi - come visit any time!
