Everyone Should Move to Canada.

Once again, I am struggling to support President Elect - Barrack Obama. America is quickly turning into an incredibly hard place to live in. Let me start by saying this. I am 98% anti abortion. The case in which I am not is when it would kill the mother to carry the pregnancy to term. I am 100% against it when there is any possibility at all of the fetus surviving outside the womb. I don't care if it was rape or incest - how can you kill a child because someone else did something so terrible to you? That is what adoption is for. Not abortion. FOCA is a new bill that President Obama said he WILL sign. Please go here: www.fightfoca.com and read the bill. This bill says it is the Freedom of Choice Act - but it is only the freedom of choice for Women who want abortions. It states that if a doctor (even a pro-life doctor) can be sued and barred from practice for refusing to perform an abortion. It also states that public funding will be allowed for abortions. (Meaning that tax payers will have to pay for abortions. Whether they are pro-life or not.) Where is the freedom of choice for the rest of the country? Why should we be forced to fund and support something that we don't believe in? If you believe this bill is the way things should be, shame on you. Please support the fight against FOCA. I believe in agency - if you want an abortion, that is on you. I am against it. I would never support someone having an abortion, but I know it is not my right to stop someone. I'd like to be a doctor someday. I cannot in good conscious go on to get my medical degree when I know that in doing so I may be forced to perform an act that I believe to be murder.

i don't think obama should bear the brunt of this. he didnt write the bill, and if he doesnt sign it, it can go back to congress and be passed without his approval. but i do agree that it isn't a bill that should be allowed to pass.

and i think you should have included this in your post:

FOCA will do away with state laws on parental involvement, on partial birth abortion, and on all other protections.
FOCA will compel taxpayer funding of abortions.
FOCA will force faith-based hospitals and healthcare facilities to perform abortions.

i don't think all doctors should be forced to perform abortions.. as this is america, they should be allowed to live their conscience.. if they believe it's ok in cases of rape/incest, they should be allowed to perform them.. but i also believe they should have the option to not perform it if they think the reasons aren't good enough..

and there is no way in hell i think they should be allowed to perform ANY medical procedure on a minor without parental consent..

the same thing with faith based institutions.. this is a CLEAR VIOLATION of the "seperation of church and state" all these A#$H%#&$ seem to be so big on.. untill it conflicts with something else they want.
