Orly

So, when I first started this blog, I didn't think that I would have anything to write about! So, I am really excited that something exciting happened the day I started it.
Last night, Tyler and I were at the University Mall, because I needed some new jeans. (My favorite ones had a tear, so it was time for some new ones.) Well, the shopping was done, and we had gone in search of the car, when we heard a tiny "MEW!" So we looked around for a bit, and Tyler finally found a tiny little kitten under one of the cars. Well, as soon as he went to grab her, she took off a few cars down, and climbed into the cars engine. After about 15 minutes of trying to get her down, and having a helpful bystander go find a flashlight, she finally came down and took off for the end of the row, and went into another engine. This car, luckily, had some people in it, and they happened to have cat food in the trunk. Well, Orly decided that she wasn't going to be caught, so she ran away again, this time into the engine of an SUV. At this point the helpful bystander mentioned before came back with a security guard, and a flashlight. The security guard told us "Don't worry about it. She'll either climb down or get chopped up when they start the car." What a jerk! So I told him (In the most polite voice I could manage) "No thanks, we'd rather take her home." So helpful bystander #2 threw some catfood under the car to lure her down. And it worked! Tyler grabbed her, and we thanked everyone (the crowd at this point was about 5 or 6 people) and we went on our merry way. Another funny side note - after lying on the ground under cars, Tyler's clothes were filthy. So instead of destroying his seat covers, he opted to drive shirtless. It was amusing. Especially at the drive thru at Teriyaki Stix. So, we took her home, and decided to name her Orly. Pronounced: OR-lee. In Hebrew, it means "The light of my life." And in Lolspeak, it means "Oh really?" (We mostly chose it for the spelling. Go to www.icanhascheezburger.com for more on lolspeak.) At first, she was terrified of everyone and wouldn't come out from under the bed. Then Tyler took a piece of chicken from his chicken bowl, tore a tiny piece off, and put it on a paper towel. After she tasted that, she would eat it right out of my hand. We started giving her a little bit of the cat food (Oh, Helpful Bystander #2 gave us the catfood from his trunk) and she was eating it like she hadn't eaten in days. Poor thing! We think she's about 5 or 6 weeks old, and that someone just dumped her. She wouldn't have lasted long in the parking lot, for sure. But she is much tamer now. She is cuddling up to us, and letting us hold her and pet her. And she figured out how to jump up and down from Tyler's bed, which we thought was too high for her! But that is the story of Orly! Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

This is Orly. Isn't she cute?!

Aww I love Orly! She is so adorable! I'm so jealous. But I'm also so glad that I can see her all the time! I'm jealous that you get to keep a cat.
